Become an Import Pro

Master the art of bringing your favorite recipes into Kookden using our AI Chef. Here is everything you need to know for a flawless import.

The Basics: How to Import

1. Share Directly to Kookden

Found a great recipe on a food blog or website? You don't even need to copy and paste. Just tap your phone's native Share button while looking at the recipe, and select Kookden from your app list. We'll automatically extract the link and bypass all the life stories and ads!

2. Upload Photos & Screenshots

Have a handwritten recipe card, a cookbook page, or a screenshot from an app? Simply open the AI Import screen and upload your image. Our AI Chef will read the text and magically convert it into a beautifully formatted digital recipe.

3. Upload Social Media Videos

Want a recipe from a TikTok, Instagram Reel, or YouTube video? First, download or save the video directly to your phone's camera roll. Then, select the video file in our AI Import screen. We'll watch the video, listen to the audio, and write down the steps for you!

Troubleshooting: "Not a Food Recipe"

Did our AI Chef throw an error saying it couldn't find a recipe? Here is why that usually happens and how to fix it:

🔒 Private Accounts or Links

If you share a link from a private Instagram or TikTok account, our AI cannot access it.

The Fix: Download the video to your phone or take a screenshot of the recipe, then upload the file directly in the app instead of sharing the link.

📸 Blurry Images or Cropped Text

If you upload a photo of a cookbook or a screenshot, make sure the text is in focus and well-lit. If our AI can't read the words, it won't know it's a recipe.

🍔 Just a Picture of Food

If you upload a picture of a finished burger with no text, audio, or context, the AI will recognize the food, but it won't be able to invent the recipe steps from thin air. Make sure your upload contains actual instructions or ingredients!
